Scenic bike-tour to a winemaker at shores of lake Geneva
Discover Perroy and it’s wines
It’s an early spring morning at the shores of Lake Geneva just in-between Geneva and Lausanne, when we start our E-bike tour to discover one of the nine winemakers of Perroy.
The spirit of the thousand year old village accompanies us this morning on our way down from the Prieuré, which largely dominates the scenery. The Commune of Perroy owns 3.6 hectares of vines and habitates 1.600 people. The Chasselas grape dominates the vineyards and the scenery.
Through the blooming wineyards
With great facility our bikes take us through vineyards full of dandelions. Just before we arrive at the cold waters of Leman, as the locals call their lake, we arrive at the Domaine du Feuillerage.
The Domain de Feuillerage – in the middle of wine-leaves
The winery “Le Feuillerage” has been owned by the Gaillard family since 1902. The owners were winegrowers from generation to generation. Today it is Roland and Cédric, father and son, who manage the family estate. An experienced winegrower and a young, graduate oenologist who work together and continue the history of the family estate under the motto: “Respect, passion, quality”. Respect is expressed every day in our relationship to work.
“We enthusiastically accept the challenges sent by nature. Our highest goal is to produce wines of high quality and noblessness.” Roland Gaillard
Nurture of new ideas in natural production and hosting
The experience of one guides the energy of the other and by talking to each other, new ideas arise, which develop further and then become concrete. In the future we wish to go even further with the natural production and we will improve our hosting facilities starting with the renovation of our ancient cave to welcome our visitors.
